Each-way bets where the terms are on your side

RaceBot reads around 200 form factors for every runner in every UK and Irish race, blends them with the market price, and only bets when the price and the each-way place terms pay more than the horse's real chance. It uses bookmakers' extra-place offers too. Every bet is proofed before the off.

Today

No RaceBot bets proofed yet today. Bets go out about 30 minutes before each batch of races, after the final non-runners.

How RaceBot picks each-way bets

  1. Reads the form: speed figures, ratings adjusted for weight, going, trip, course and draw, pace, trouble in running, and trainer, jockey and sire records measured against the market.
  2. Blends model and market: a machine-learning model scores each runner, then blends that with the price, the approach Bill Benter made famous.
  3. Works out place chances: exact chances of finishing in each paying place.
  4. Checks the terms: it bets only where the price and place terms pay more than those chances are worth.

Extra places: where the value is

When a bookmaker pays an extra place without cutting the price, many runners become value bets. RaceBot only uses offers in the race types that were profitable in testing, and it never uses extra places on 12 to 15 runner handicaps. Extra places explained.

RaceBot questions

What is RaceBot?

RaceBot is The Gallop's each-way betting model for UK and Irish racing. It looks for each-way bets where the price and the place terms pay more than the horse's real chance of finishing in the places, including bookmakers' extra-place offers.

Does RaceBot tip winners?

No. It looks for bets that are priced wrongly. Most of its bets are about the place part of an each-way bet, which is why it bets mainly in races where the place terms are generous.

Which races does RaceBot bet in?

Standard bets go in exactly 5-runner races, exactly 8-runner races and handicaps with 16 or more runners. Extra-place bets go in 5 to 7 runner races paying 3 places, races with 8 or more runners paying 4 places, and big-field handicaps paying 5 places. It never uses extra places on 12 to 15 runner handicaps.

How are RaceBot's results proofed?

Every day's bets are written to a proof file before the first race, fingerprinted with SHA-256 and chained to the previous day's file. The fingerprint is published here and sent to an independent proofing service before the off. Any bet received after its race started is not counted.

How much should I stake?

RaceBot stakes the bet's value divided by 20 as a share of your bank, never more than 2% on one bet, with extra-place bets at half that and no more than 10% of the bank in a day. On a £1,000 bank a typical bet is about £4 in total.

Is RaceBot guaranteed to make a profit?

No. Its rules were tested on every GB and Irish race from 2020 to May 2026, but tests and past results don't guarantee future returns. Only stake what you can afford to lose.

18+. RaceBot gives information about bets; it doesn't take bets. Tested and past results don't guarantee future returns. Only stake what you can afford to lose.
