Full-cover bets explained

A full-cover bet puts every combination of your selections into one bet. The more combinations, the fewer winners you need for a return, and the bigger the stake.

Worked example

A £1 win Lucky 15 costs £15. With two winners at 2/1 and 3/1 and two losers, the two singles return £3 and £4 and the double returns £12, so the bet returns £19.00: a profit of £4.00. The other 12 bets all include a loser.

How we use this at The Gallop

Every tip we've given since October 2025 is on our results page, settled with exactly these sums: each-way bets at standard place terms, Rule 4 where it applied, and the bigger of the advised price and the starting price, as bookmakers offering best odds guaranteed would pay. You can check any bet by putting it through the calculator.

Questions

How many bets is a Lucky 15?

15: four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a fourfold accumulator on four selections. A £1 Lucky 15 costs £15, or £30 each way.

What's the difference between a Yankee and a Lucky 15?

A Yankee is the 11 multiples without the four singles, so it needs at least two winners to return anything. A Lucky 15 adds the singles, so one winner pays.

How are non-runners settled in a multiple?

The non-runner's leg counts at odds of 1.0, so your stake carries on to the other selections: a treble with a non-runner becomes a double, and so on.

Does the calculator include Lucky 15 bonuses?

No. Bonuses such as double the odds for a single winner differ between bookmakers, so the returns here are the standard returns before any bonus.
